Criminal Minds season 13 renewal official; Beyond Borders fate still unclear
Overall, it appears as though season 13 will air once more during the 2017-18 season, and will likely be in the 22-24 episode range yet again. This is a show that really doesn’t change all that much at this point in terms of its structure, so we imagine that the pattern will hold once more. While the live+same-day ratings were down for Criminal Minds, that is something that you can argue is happening across the board with the majority of CBS’ shows these days.
As for the cast, that’s still one of the larger mysteries. We’d like to assume that the entire cast as presently constituted will return, but it is still a little bit early to know for sure. After all of the turnover from the past year, anything could happen; but, we like to think that if any of the cast members had any intention of leaving after this season, they would’ve already started to figure that out so that the show could plan a proper send-off. We’re a little worried about Matthew Gray Gubler just because of the Spencer Reid arc going on at the moment, but we think that he’ll be back. It’d be surprising if he’s not.
There are still a few more episodes of season 12 before Criminal Minds goes off the air for the summer — at the moment, the priorities for the folks over at the BAU seem to be fairly easy to identify. The team has to figure out a way in which to stop Mr. Scratch from causing any more harm, and they better do so quickly given that he’s targeting various team members in one way or another. They also have to figure out a way to properly exonerate Spencer, who’s questioned his sanity and started to lose parts of himself behind bars. The show has more on its plate than it possibly ever has.
Unfortunately, there is still no word on the fate of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. We should know by May.

The series turned out to be interesting after the departure of Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner, season 12 dragged itself without great emotions.
Episodes without stories, without protagonist, appeals and cast without chemistry.
Large broadcasters offer sardines instead of caviar to the viewer.
The major television networks have not noticed that in recent years, the viewer has been more demanding.
The format does not need to be reinvented. Just stop being predictable, boring or overly unlikely and above all, show efficiency in the pretense of entertaining, instead of irritating or provoking our indifference.
