Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid lands new show
Sources confirm that Hadid is going to be appearing on a new Lifetime series entitled Model Moms premiering later this season, one that seems to be inspired in part by the fact that Hadid is the mother of supermodels Bella and Gigi Hadid. Over the course of this new series she will do her part in order to help young teen models try to figure out how to be successful in the industry, while guiding their moms / managers along the way. There are some cash prizes in the end, with the ultimate winner getting a chance to be represented by IMG Models and to be managed by Hadid’s own company.
In many ways, we do think of the show almost as a junior version of America’s Next Top Model, but with a focus put on the business side of things just as much as the modeling side. It’s an interesting idea just because the majority of models do tend to start rather young. As for whether or not it’s entertaining, that remains to be seen — we just consider this further confirmation that you likely won’t be seeing Yolanda Hadid back on the Bravo series in a regular capacity in the near future. That being said, this is a great vehicle for her since this is an industry she knows very well from her own experience as a model and fans of Yolanda will have a chance to see her back on TV again.
As of right now, Lifetime as a network is still looking to expand its portfolio. They ended Devious Maids last year, they’ve got a show in UnREAL that has its work cut out for it trying to win more people over after a polarizing second season, and in general, they need to work on their scripted efforts. This won’t help that very much since this is a reality show, but we are nonetheless happy to see them trying to boost their unscripted portfolio.
What we can tell you is that in the meantime, you can catch some of Hadid’s former co-stars in new episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. For some further news and insight on the subject of the show, be sure to head over to the link here.
