Nashville season 5 episode 12 return date: Hopes for CMT drama

Leading up to Nashville season 5 episode 11 on Thursday night, it remains clear that the fan following is in a rather emotional place. It’s pretty crazy to think that they would not be when you think for a minute about everything that they’ve gone through. This is a show that was briefly canceled, then revived, and now no longer has its leading lady Connie Britton. It’s overcome quite a bit in order to continue this journey, and moving out of the upcoming midseason finale, you do have to wonder just what could be coming down the road. It’s only fair to ask some of the questions.

So when will the series return to CMT? For now, there is no clear answer other than “later this year.” We know that Nashville season 5 episode 12 is in fact. When the cable network made the decision to order the series, they did so with an episode order that was in some ways similar to the ones that many network shows receive. They just opted to have a huge break in the middle, which gives it a little more of a cable feel similar to a Pretty Little Liars or a Teen Wolf, even if this show’s meant for a different audience.

Don’t interpret the delay for the show as any sign at all that the series is in some danger. Nashville appears to be fine so much as we can tell, though to be fair, it’s not like CMT is giving up just some enormous bevy of information on that subject right now. We know that it’s ratings are okay for the network, but its Hulu performance is not all that clear and that is a very key component of the show’s unique broadcast model.

Hopefully, at some point during the hiatus we find out in the process about a possible Nashville season 6. In the wake of losing Britton, it could benefit the show strongly to have a vote of confidence that makes everyone start to feel a little more as though we’re going to have the show for a long time. In moments of uncertainty, that vote is a very big very valuable thing.
