‘Pretty Little Liars’ alum Ian Harding lines up next TV gig
Ian Harding recently wrapped his work as Ezra on “Pretty Little Liars,” and as a result of that, he is now joining his former co-star Lucy Hale in figuring out potentially what his next move is going to be.
According to a report from TVLine, Harding is going to be one of the stars on “Thin Ice,” the comedy pilot from “New Girl” executive producer Liz Meriwether that centers on a young receptionist (Bridgit Mendler, “Good Luck Charlie” and “Undateable”) who takes a job in Antarctica in order to discover a renewed love for science and her world. Harding’s character Andrew is similar in that he was not always in the scientific community; he took a job as a station manager on the continent after having worked on Wall Street for many years.
This show is interesting on paper mostly because of its unique setting; we have no idea how in the world the show is going to make this feel like Antarctica given that we can’t imagine them filming there (think about how much that would cost), but we have a lot of faith in Meriwether in particular after “New Girl” has become one of the funniest and most-consistent comedies out there. Also, Harding has a natural comedic charm that you got to see in flashes on “Pretty Little Liars,” so it’ll be interesting to see how it works here. The unfortunate thing is that we’re probably not going to know whether or not this new show is going to make it on the air until we roll around to a little bit later in the spring.
If you missed it, Harding is the third “Pretty Little Liars” star to land a prominent role in either a pilot or an established show since it ended. We’ve already told you about Hale’s pilot, and Keegan Allen has a part coming up at the end of “Major Crimes” this season.
