‘Black Sails’ season 4, episode 4 preview: Battles galore
The fourth season of “Black Sails” is one that is starting to get near the halfway point of its run, and that is a mighty big deal this season in particular. After all, this is the final one for the show, and therefore it bears the responsibility and having to find a way in which to tie up a wide array of different loose ends related to some of its various characters.
The promo below teases a wide array of many things on the show next week: Long John Silver intrigue, massive battles, and plenty of gunplay to go along with it. We don’t exactly think that this will be an aberration at all this season — we know the stakes, and with Treasure Island as a sort of road map we know where things are going. This is really just all about presentation and finding some unique ways to delight us.
Ratings – Before we conclude this article, one thing that we did want to touch on for a moment was seeing if the show’s move to Sunday turned out to be an asset in the ratings at all, much in the way that it was for “Power.” So far, it hasn’t been. The show is averaging to date a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which puts it about average with what the average was for the third season. To date, it’s down about 18% in total viewers, but there is a huge caveat to consider with both of these things: There are only two episodes to date that are chearted, and one aired against the Super Bowl.
Given that Starz doesn’t care so much about live ratings themselves, the DVR viewings and streams will make the different for many other shows that are moving to the night this year after previously being on Saturdays.
