‘The Flash’ season 3, episode 13 trailer: A longer look at two-part Grodd event
The first thing we have to do within this article about “The Flash” is hand over some major kudos to the fine folks over at The CW for what they are managing to pull off with the budget that they have. It can’t be all that easy, given that this show is using a TON of visual effects in the next two episodes in particular. This is without even mentioning Savitar, or anything that is done with the speedsters themselves.
The full trailer for “Attack on Gorilla City” gives you a small sense of what is coming in terms of getting to see Gorilla Grodd in more of his natural element on Earth-2, which is weird to say given that he is not actually from this element. Barry, Julian, and Cisco are all going over in an effort to help rescue Harry from the ape’s clutches, while at the same time Wally and Jesse Quick are going to do what they can in order to help protect Central City with Barry away. (This romance is both awkward and interesting, given that they have the challenge of being from different worlds and can’t exactly see each other that much.)
One of the most interesting things that could come with this story with Grodd is seeing if, somehow, he ends up finding his way back to Earth-1 and starts wrecking more havoc there. It’s worth remembering that this is one of The Flash’s most-notable adversaries, so you want to have him in a place where he can cause more damage. It’s hard to imagine him becoming a Big Bad for a future season, it would be nice to see him take center stage at some point in more stories beyond this season.
Alas, you do have to wait until Tuesday, February 21 in order to see this episode play out; this is a two-parter, so whatever happens beyond this episode will be featured in the one airing on February 28.
