‘Criminal Minds’ season 12 spoilers: The mystery at the heart of ‘A Good Husband’

Criminal Minds -We’re pretty sure that we’ve made the joke already about the upcoming “Criminal Minds” episode “A Good Husband” being a sort-of sequel to “The Good Wife,” but it’s probably a good thing that it’s not since the BAU probably wouldn’t be colliding with Alicia Florrick and company unless someone was killed off. Wasn’t the slap in the series finale enough?

We could probably sprinkle in more “Good Wife” references throughout this article, but let’s just say for the time being that we’re just glad to be getting “The Good Fight” on CBS All Access later this year. The focus is on “A Good Husband” here, which is going to air on CBS come Wednesday, February 8.

As for what you can expect to see, what we know about the story is rather simple: A series of male victims are going to be uncovered by the BAU, but they could all have a shared identity: John Doe. There is no clear way for the team to identify any of the victims, and just as you would imagine, that’s going to open up all sorts of challenges for the team. The good news is that, obviously, they’re the BAU! If anyone is going to be able to handle some of this stuff, it’s them.

This episode is going to be airing after the next installment “Surface Tension” on Wednesday, February 1 — an installment that is going to feature the return of Jane Lynch as Reid’s mother. This is one of at least two confirmed appearances for her over the course of the season. In looking beyond “A Good Husband,” we also know that the enormous Reid-centric episode entitled “Spencer” is going to be coming your way later in the month. Regardless of whatever happens in the episode, Reid’s life will not be the same on the other side.

(If it wasn’t clear previously, there is no new episode of the show airing on CBS tonight.)
