‘Arrow’ season 5 spoilers: How does Talia al Ghul factor into Prometheus mystery?
Once again, we have to start off this “Arrow” article by delivering some bad news: There is no new episode of the show tonight, and there won’t be one until we get closer to the end of the month.
At the moment, though, there are two big mysteries to think about while we wait for the show to come back on the air: What’s going on with the return of Laurel Lance, and also precisely who is under the infamous Prometheus mask. We probably know more about the Laurel mystery than the latter, mostly because The CW already gave away in the promo for the show’s next episode that this is not the same Laurel Lance we knew. (This further adds to the theories that are out there about the character being secretly Black Siren, her Earth-2 doppelganger.)
Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Wendy Mericle does make it clear that regardless of who the new Laurel is, her presence will have some widespread implications:
“[At first seeing Laurel] is a very welcome surprise … But there will be… whatever the reverse of a ‘silver lining’ is… when he finds out what’s really going on. It will have a lot of emotional resonance, particularly for him and Felicity.”
While Mericle does not offer too much in the way of answers as to the Prometheus mystery, at the same time she does say that the upcoming presence of Talia al Ghul, an iconic character from the comics and someone we’re shocked we have not met before now, is going to prove rather crucial in helping to resolve this storyline. Maybe she knows who he is, or at the very least, understands more of his motive.
