‘The Bachelor’ premiere video: Nick Viall, Chris Harrison await the limousines!

Nick -

The premiere episode of “The Bachelor” on ABC is just about upon us, and with that, we’re ready to dive in courtesy of one final sneak peek.

This time around, you get a sense of some of the awkwardness that Nick Viall is feeling as he tries to get accustomed to being back at the mansion once more. The funny thing here is that through all of the talk about this being his fourth time at love on the franchise, this is only his second time back at the mansion on the first night; he’s much more akin to a Ben Higgins or any other former star of the show in that regard. During Kaitlin Bristowe’s season of the show, he turned up after the other guys arrived to New York with her. Meanwhile, “Bachelor in Paradise” was never in the mansion at all. He’s not all that used to this environment, and you can tell he’s nervous while he stands there with Chris Harrison and await the women turning up. (Too bad Jorge couldn’t come up from Mexico with a drink to ease the nerves!)

As we start to see the women share their own perspective on Nick, there is one thing that starts to become rather clear: There’s a lot of people here who either haven’t seen his previous two seasons of “The Bachelorette,” or have some sort of selective memory about it because they don’t want to remember a lot of the stuff that happened there. Everyone suddenly acts like “Paradise” came around and all of a sudden, this man was a great gift to the human race. Personally, our feeling of irony is that we actually enjoyed Nick on his first two seasons, and appreciated that he was the pot-stirrer and he held nothing back. We didn’t need the show to give him a better edit to realize that there was something interesting there that would make him a good Bachelor.

All in all, here’s to expecting another interesting season from Nick, and here’s to finding a few female contenders who could end up being good viable candidates for “The Bachelorette.” This is something this season we’ll be looking at rather early.

How well do you think Nick is going to do as “The Bachelor”? Share below, and head over here to see another sneak peek that is largely all about the women’s reactions to seeing the First Impression Rose for the first time. (Photo: ABC.)
