‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ spotlight: Will ‘Real Housewives’ star Porsha Williams find boardroom success
There have been a constant stream of stars from “The Real Housewives” franchise on “The Celebrity Apprentice” over the past few years, but for one reason or another, the NBC show really loves plucking people from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Porsha Williams is the third person after Kenya Moore and NeNe Leakes to appear on this show after doing the Bravo series, and we wouldn’t be shocked if Phaedra Parks turns up next time if the show’s renewed.
Can Porsha beat her former co-stars as the first “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star to make it to the finale? Let’s try to figure that out in the spotlight below!
Claim to Fame – Currently, a “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member. Before that, she was best known for being a model and music-video star in Atlanta, and for marrying football player Kordell Stewart in a lavish, televised ceremony. The two parties later divorced.
Charity – HOSEA. The main purpose of this organization is to help feed and take care of the hungry. Like with every other charity we’ve spotlighted, certainly a worthy cause.
Strengths – If there’s any task that she and her team runs into that involves talking or communicating to an audience, she’ll be great at that. We also do like in many ways her strategy entering the competition, where she seems ready to take on anyone who she perceives to be quiet during some of the tasks. She’s potentially done her homework here, and realizes that the people who try to stay under-the-radar in the early going tend to go far. It’s smart, but at the same time she’ll have to be careful not to become overly transfixed on this.
Weaknesses – You do have to worry about whether or not Porsha is going to have the contact list out in Los Angeles to help her during any potential fundraising tasks. Fellow “Real Housewives” star Kyle Richards seems to have an enormous advantage in that department, and we also wonder if at times her talking too much could prove to get her in trouble. She may try to shoulder too much responsibility, and then have a hard time talking herself out of a bind that she finds herself in — one that is largely her own doing.
Prediction – The great thing about Porsha being on this season is that there will not be a single dull moment. She’s a huge personality, and this alone will probably allow us to get many an entertaining moment. However, there is something to be said about being under-the-radar, and she may want to try at times doing that as opposed to targeting those players. This could allow her an opportunity or two to advance further in the season, since our biggest fear for her is that she’s never going to be able to remove a target from her back since she’ll be at the forefront of almost every task.
