‘The Flash’ season 3: Three Earth-2 characters we desperately want to meet

Reverse -Before we dive too much further into this particular article on “The Flash” (meant in part to help tide you over until the show returns next month), we should concede first and foremost that the odds are not particularly high that we will see any Earth-2 characters on the show moving forward this season … unless a certain theory regarding an “Arrow” character’s return turns out to be true.

Even still, one of the great things that this show has going for it is this opportunity to provide its cast (and the cast of some other shows) with a chance to take on some very different iterations of their characters, and there are certainly some people we’ve come to meet now who we imagine would be rather interesting should we get a chance to see more of them. This is, of course, just a small taste of the possibilities.

Eobard Thawne – Could the show’s Earth-2 Eobard be a good guy traveling from the future, or without Barry Allen as The Flash, would he even really exist at all? Or, would we never meet this character given that he is in the future? Maybe meeting him is a task suited best for “Legends of Tomorrow,” given that you have Matt Letscher over there as a full-time cast member, and it’s certainly not impossible that some of the Legends encounter a breach somewhere in the timeline where an Earth-2 character or two hops over.

Wally West – Would this Wally be as intent on being a speedster as the one we’ve come to know over the past year or so? Is there a Wally on Earth-2? There are once again a ton of interesting questions that could be asked and explored here, and we’d love to see almost a completely different take — either a character who is exceptionally shy, or one that might have a layer or two of pure evil.

Power Girl – In the comics, the Earth-2 version of Supergirl is Power Girl, and it’s fair to say that she is pretty darn awesome. Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that the series sticks to canon here given that Kara Danvers has superpowers on Earth within the world of the show. At the very least, we don’t feel as though we know for sure that that Power Girl doesn’t exist within this world, given that there are clearly some other famous DC Comics characters over there in Earth 2.
