‘The Blacklist’ season 4, episode 9 preview: First news on ‘Lipet’s Seafood Company’

The Blacklist logo any seasonWhen it comes to strange episode titles for “The Blacklist,” the one coming up on January 5 in “Lipet’s Seafood Company” may be among the strangest that we’ve seen. We would assume on paper that the title is some sort of reference to a secret operation that may be going on underneath the surface at a seafood joint, which probably means that this is one of those said hole-in-the-wall places where the food is really good.

That aside, there’s going to be a lot to unravel in this episode in the wake of Red’s statement to Alexander Kirk about him supposedly being Liz’s father (we still don’t buy it), and also whatever sort of peace Liz may think that she has with him gone. This is not a show where things tend to progress slowly, so this episode may unlock a whole new mythology.

NBC released a synopsis for the episode earlier in the week; be sure to take a look at that below:

“An investigation into an international terrorist operating on American soil tests the allegiances of the Task Force. As Aram (Amir Arison) faces the consequences of his girlfriend hacking into the FBI computer systems, Red (James Spader) cashes in on a favor.”

On the surface, dealing with the Aram feedback definitely does seem timely given everything that he went through on the first half of the season with him; he’s going to have to contend with whatever the consequences of that are, especially in terms of how much he shares of his professional life privately.

As for Red, let’s just say that this does not sound good at all. Do you really want to owe something to one of the most dangerous criminals in the world? There is only one way that we think that this can end, and that’s “badly.”
