Could ‘Arrow,’ ‘Legends of Tomorrow,’ or ‘The Flash’ introduce Power Girl?
One of the more interesting reveals that came out of the massive DC Comics – CW crossover that happened last week was that we got a little bit more of a sense as to the precise lineage of where Supergirl is from — and it turned out to be Earth-38. That’s far up on the scale from Earth-1, and it makes a little bit more sense as to precisely why it’s so difficult for anyone to transport from one part of this multiverse to the next.
What this does help to make us wonder more than ever, though, is whether or not there is a version of Kara on either Earth-1 or Earth-2 — a Power Girl, to be precise. In the comics, this characters lives on Earth-2, and she could be a really fun hero to bring into this world given that she’s extremely confident about her powers, hyper-intelligent in her everyday life, and also lighthearted. She seems like she’d be a great fit for a brief appearance on “The Flash” in particular.
Unfortunately, we don’t have too much of a clear indication at present as to whether or not we’re going to be seeing Power Girl in the near future on either this show, “Legends of Tomorrow,” or “Arrow.” Based on what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly, the topic hasn’t really come up yet:
“We hadn’t discussed [introducing Power Girl] formally, but I think that certainly after these three episodes, there’s literally no limit to the things that we can do.”
Personally, another reason why Power Girl would work well on “The Flash” is that you’ve already established the presence of a number of other prominent superhero alter egos on Earth-2, and there’s enough of a mystery there for them to hypothetically exist without us knowing about them. It’d be a little harder to imagine someone like Power Girl randomly showing up one day on Earth-1 as though she’d been there for years.
