‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 9 preview: ‘Who is Prometheus’ may finally be answered in winter finale

Arrow -

For much of this season on “Arrow,” we’ve seen teasers aplenty regarding the status of a certain Prometheus. He is the Big Bad for the year, a person with a mysterious past that is somehow connected to Oliver Queen. He’s certainly a villain, but he does not act without intention. He wants to destroy the Green Arrow or his alter ego in one way or another, though we’re not sure which — and we’re also not sure why.

What we may have coming up sooner rather than alter, however, are some answers to some of these all-important questions. The title for the winter finale is “What We Leave Behind,” and if you are wondering why you’ve got a sighting above of season 1 Oliver, the answer is that it was an intentional choice on the part of producers to give us more of a sense of the Hood’s early days. Through that, we can understand better hopefully who this character is and what they want. There’s not necessarily confirmation that we’ll know the villain’s identity for sure in this episode, but most signs do seem to be pointing in the direction — thankfully — of a big reveal.

Synopsis – “After Prometheus attacks Curtis (Echo Kellum), Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes Prometheus knows all of Team Arrow’s secret identities and is planning to come for them one by one. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Detective Malone (guest star Tyler Ritter) discover a clue that links Prometheus to Oliver’s past.”

What makes Prometheus so tricky at present is that it’s fairly hard to determine properly the right person we already know to identify as this part. There’s no way for it seemingly to be someone dead (the Lazarus Pit is gone), we’ve already ruled out Quentin Lance, and it wouldn’t make sense to be a member of the team given that they didn’t seemingly know Oliver before now. We do know that Artemis is a traitor, but even she is a recent addition to the world.

The easy assumption is that Prometheus is connected somehow to the Bravta, and if that’s the case, let’s just hope that it’s an especially interesting part of that world, given that it hasn’t been that positively received to date.

Later tonight, we’ll be back at this link to present our latest “Arrow” episode reviewBe sure to keep your eyes peeled for that! (Photo: The CW.)
