Is ‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 10 new tonight on CBS?

The past couple of months have been very good to many fans of “Scorpion” out there, as we got a chance to see a multitude of new episodes, including a two-hour premiere, and also see how Walter O’Brien is coping with the fact that the woman he loves more than anyone else in Paige is with someone else in Tim Armstrong.

Unfortunately, tonight marks the first of two opportunities you’re going to have in the immediate future to stop and take a deep breath. After all, there is no new episode of the show airing on the network tonight, with the simplest reason for that being that there are only so many episodes in a season, and the show clearly doesn’t want to get in a place where they burn through the vast majority of their stories now and therefore don’t have nearly as many to tell when we get a little bit later on down the road.

When the show does return, it’ll be on December 12, and with an episode entitled “This Is the Pits” that will somehow involve Team Scopion meets the La Brea Tar Pits, a place that can certainly be particularly hot and smelly depending on the time of the year. Hopefully, the show got a chance to do a lot of on-location work given that they film regularly in California; few shows really get chances to take advantage of their nearby filming locations as much as they really should.

In looking beyond this, there is one more episode coming this season in “Wreck the Halls,” which is the holiday-themed installment airing on December 19. The show should capitalize on the fact that there aren’t many other network series airing that far into the year.
