TV Quick Hits: ‘Lucifer’ season 2 books ‘White Collar’ actor; ‘Once Upon a Time’ news; ‘Falling Water’ hopes
We begin this edition of our CarterMatt TV Quick Hits within the realm of “Lucifer,” as we take a look at a bit of casting news that has us especially excited: It looks like Tim DeKay is coming on board!
According to a new report from TVLINE, the former “White Collar” actor is signing on for episodes 12 and 13 of the current second season in the role of Dr. Jacob Carlisle, a neuroscience professor who will have ties to someone the title character cares for — and the ramifications of that could be rather severe. These episodes may be more important than your traditional episodes in this part of a show’s run, if for no other reason than that this show originally did not have a full-season order. That was picked up later on much to the joy of fans everywhere.
As for some other news from the day…
A small “Once Upon a Time” tease – It’s not substantial enough to merit a full article, but a recent Entertainment Weekly issue suggests that we could be heading in to new worlds and seeing a variety of different adventures play out following the upcoming winter finale. Therefore, don’t necessarily expect them to stay in Storybrooke forever! This might just be what the show needs right now – a bit of a shake up.
More on “Falling Water” and the future – Per Deadline, Amazon is working on getting exclusive VOD rights to the USA series, and that is incredibly important for a couple of different reasons. For one, it could bring the show a little bit more attention at a time in which it could certainly use it; this may also help to further ensure that the series ends up getting renewed for a second season. We’ll have to wait and see what happens there, but fingers crossed!
