TV Quick Hits: ‘The Magicians’ season 2 premiere date; ‘Switched at Birth’ creator’s new gig; Donald Trump to appear on ’60 Minutes’
Let’s start off this edition of TV Quick Hits with something that we know almost everyone constantly wants to know, and that is premiere dates for some of their favorite shows!
“The Magicians” season 2 gets a premiere date – The hit Syfy adaptation is going to be back on Wednesday, January 25 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and that’s something to go ahead and mark on your calendar. As to what’s going to happen over the course of season 2, that still remains to be seen given the universe is still expanding, and character arcs are getting all the more interesting.
For those wondering, another Syfy series in “The Expanse” will return with new episodes on Wednesday, February 8.
Donald Trump’s first TV interview since becoming President-Elect – We know that not everyone wants to hear any more headlines related to politics at the moment, and we get that after spending the past year and a half completely inundated with them. Therefore, let’s just keep this one short: You are going to see Trump appear on Sunday’s new edition of “60 Minutes.” We imagine that there will be quite a bit of ground that the show will try to cover.
“Switched at Birth” creator’s new show – Before Lizzy Weiss dove into the stories of Bay, Daphne, and other characters for the ABC Family-turned-Freeform series, she was one of the co-writers on the surfer movie “Blue Crush.” Now, Deadline reports that this property could come back as a TV show, and she is working on it for NBC alongside Imagine Television.
The original movie was set in Hawaii, and we have to figure that the new series would be, too, if it ends up making it that far. After all, can you really imagine filming in Los Angeles and being told to go out into the surf on a chilly January morning? Sure, we know that this may sound like nothing in comparison to the people who live in colder parts of the country, and it can be really cold out there! (Photo: Syfy.)
