TV Quick Hits: ‘Nashville’ season 5, ‘Modern Family,’ ‘Code Black’ season 2 scoop
For this edition of TV Quick Hits, we’re talking all about casting news! Not only that, but we’re running the gamut in terms of comedy and drama. Let’s dive right in…
“Modern Family” gets Kelsey Grammer – For those of you out there who love the idea of seeing one sitcom icon heading over to another show in roughly the same breath, we’ve got this for you today!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former “Frasier” star will appear in at least one upcoming episode in the role of a circus ringleader, and someone who just so happens to have a history with Eric Stonestreet’s character of Cam.
“Nashville” bringing back Will Chase – Even though the actor was one of the unfortunate casualties of the show moving to CMT after the ABC cancellation, consider this your proof that you will still see the guy have a role in the show’s future. This news was confirmed on Twitter by Chris Carmack, who posted a photo of himself along with the actor (who plays Luke Wheeler) on his official Twitter account.
While it’s not entirely clear just how long he’ll stick around, consider this a little bit more closure for some of you out there who were hoping to see a little bit more of the character.
“Code Black” casts Jay Harringon – Finally, we turn to great news for everyone out there who remembers “Better Off Ted” and loved it as much as we did during its time on ABC.
According to a report from Deadline, the actor will recur on the CBS medical drama as Dr. Leo Fields, one of the most respected neurosurgeons in all of Los Angeles. He will be called upon, rather fittingly, for an operation. We cannot exactly promise you that Harrington’s presence will be significant in the effort to see the show renewed, but it at least has us a little bit more excited to see what’s coming up next.
