ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 6: Kerry Washington hands out tease for upcoming trailer
With that, we introduce the teaser for the teaser on the upcoming sixth season. Kerry Washington presented the tweet below to announce that the trailer is coming on Thursday at some point during the day.
For those who missed the memo and don’t know why in the world “Scandal” isn’t coming on until midseason, the reason for that is due to an altered schedule to accommodate Washington’s real-life pregnancy, which reduced the overall episode order. If we’re being honest, we actually think that this may be a good thing for this show, which operates better when the story is tighter and doesn’t veer off in many different directions. This is one of the reasons why “How to Get Away with Murder,” another show under the Shondaland banner, also works so effectively.
There are few official details known out there about season 6 to date, other than that the show’s probably going to tie up the story of the Presidential election pretty early on. If you were to ask us about the decision-making there in May, we would’ve said it was a grave mistake to not focus on this more. A few days before the actual election, we’re basically praying that the election isn’t mentioned past the first two minutes of the premiere. If we didn’t have to deal with politics for another couple of years after 2016, we’d be more than overjoyed. We’d probably do cartwheels down the nearest hallway.
For now, head over here and check out some other “Scandal” scoop. We’ll be back with more on the trailer when the trailer arrives. (Photo: ABC.)
