‘Girl Meets World’: See Eric Matthews run for President in new video

Not too long ago, “Girl Meets World” gave us an episode that featured the Eric Matthews character running for public office. It was a fun little diversion for the show, but at the same time we like to think that it taught a few good lessons about voter responsibility and being a part of that process. Ultimately, it’s something that was important in its own way, even if it was rather silly at times in the process.

In the video below, you can see the Eric Matthews character (played by Will Friedle) take this up a notch in announcing his Presidential bid! This is yet again another funny segment with similar goals: Trying to encourage everyone to go out and vote in the upcoming election. We also appreciate the sly reference in here to something that’s long been a personal passion project: Trying to raise awareness for the utter travesty that is Guam and American Samoa not having the same voting rights as other people in this country.

We do think that the humor in here is a little bit crazier than what you’re going to see in a standard “Girl Meets World” episode; it’s a little more like “Boy Meets World” when in that sensibility.

We don’t want to get too political here; instead, we just want to give you a chance to watch this video (thanks to MTV for first bringing it to our attention) in preparation for election day rolling around come November 8. We imagine that there are some out there who are certainly starting to get a little bit tired of all the headlines related to this very thing, and for these people, we’ve got one simple message: It’ll all be over soon.
