Raven-Symone leaves ‘The View’ to revive ‘That’s So Raven’ for Disney Channel
Clearly, the Disney Channel is finding some value in nostalgia. While the future of “Girl Meets World” beyond this season is unclear, they’ve still managed to have three successful seasons of it.
Now, they may be looking to do the same with “That’s So Raven.” It was announced on Thursday that Raven-Symone will return to star and executive-produce a revival series that features her Raven Baxter as a divorced mother to two sons who possess many of the same qualities and traits that she did on the original series. While we’re not entirely sure if the concept will work, we certainly don’t fault her for giving this a try. We are, after all, in an era where revivals of old properties are some of the big things sweeping the country. “Fuller House,” featuring Raven-Symone’s “The View” coworker Candace Cameron Bure, is one of Netflix’s most-lucrative properties.
In speaking further on “The View,” this news does mean that Raven-Symone will be departing the ABC daytime show later this year. This news comes as no real surprise, given that her appearances were relatively infrequent as of late even before this announcement. Also, “The View” is these days largely a revolving door. There was at point an era where we saw a relatively consistent panel of people taking part, but that was a little while ago.
will we miss Raven-Symone on “The View”? We suppose so, but we learned a long time ago not to get too attached to anyone one there given that there’s not really any point in doing so. Eventually, they’ll just end up leaving anyway given that this seems to be the trend.
