‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4, episode 6 preview: The history of Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider
Next week’s new episode of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” is entitled “The Good Samaritan,” and it feels like somewhat of an understatement to say that this one is going to be powerful. You’ve likely waited to learn what the origin story for this version of Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider, and you’re about to figure some of that out!
Synopsis – “Robbie’s shocking story on how he became Ghost Rider is finally discovered as Coulson and his team’s lives hang in the balance.”
The timing of this is certainly interesting, given that Ghost Rider could be a key player now in determining the future of SHIELD. The question here is if the Spirit of Vengeance has that capacity in him to be something more than what we’ve seen; we know through some of Robbie’s individual actions that this capacity is there, but that doesn’t mean that it is easy for him to express them when there is something so powerful taking over his soul.
Promo – In terms of effects, we gotta give this promo a ton of credit. It feels all sorts of intense, and it’s a great reminder of how this show does manage to sometimes do a lot with a little. Even without a budget anywhere close to the major Marvel movies, Ghost Rider certainly is a character be feared. The unfortunate thing about watching this is that other than a reminder of Ghost Rider’s origin story, there’s not anything about this that necessarily pops out. Clearly, the producers / ABC want to keep as many details about what’s coming up under wraps for as long as they possibly can.
