‘Elementary’ season 5, episode 2 preview: On Shinwell, Joan, and a favor
The fifth season of “Elementary” premiered on CBS tonight, and with that came an opportunity to get a proper introduction to Shinwell Johnson. He is certainly an interesting character thanks to his relatively-enigmatic past, and he’s someone who will specifically test Joan Watson. She will feel a certain need to help him stay on a good path, but the issue here comes into whether or not he actually wants to. She’ll have questions, and on the show’s next new episode airing on October 16, he may push things a little too far.
For more, take a look at the attached synopsis:
“When the leader of a local street gang abducts Holmes to compel him to find the person responsible for a hit on his men, Holmes and Watson get caught in the middle of an international hunt to recover a centuries old, priceless artifact. Also, Watson debates whether a personal favor Shinwell asks of her is outside her comfort zone.”
If you’re looking for a positive about the next new episode (the Watson stuff could end up being somewhat sad), isn’t the idea of Holmes and Watson searching for a priceless artifact sound entertaining to anyone else? We do think it could at the very least produce some intellectual fireworks.
For those wondering why there’s no new episode airing next week on CBS, the simple answer to that is the Presidential Debate. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will be going head to head, and we’ll have another week later without a repeat to compensate for the show’s brief absence.
