Presidential Debate 2016: ‘The Late Show,’ ‘Late Night,’ and ‘The Daily Show’ going live with coverage
Tonight is set to be one of the most-watched TV nights of the year courtesy of the first Presidential Debate, and as a result of that, it seems fair that late-night TV would do its part to plan some special coverage in advance. Maybe you’re going to want to download some further political chatter into your brain, or maybe you just want to watch something funny instead of watching the debate itself. Either way, you’ve got a lot of options.
Take a look below at three of the most-notable programs going live tonight, and some of the roster of guests who will appear.
“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” – Rob Lowe, Kal Penn, and comedian Emma Willmann will be the guests tonight. Penn in particular is a notable addition given that he worked briefly with the Obama Administration. Meanwhile, Lowe had conservative pundit Ann Coulter at his recent Comedy Central Roast.
“Late Night with Seth Meyers” – Joining Seth tonight are Will Forte (“The Last Man on Earth”), baseball legend David Ortiz, and “This Is Us” star Mandy Moore. This feels almost like the show booked the guests before it was determined that it’d be a live show.
“The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” – Finally, let’s turn to Trevor! His live show will feature Alicia Menendez of Fusion, who is easily the least-famous of the guest mentioned but probably one of the most qualified to actually break down some of what has been going on as of late.
One way or another, hopefully these shows will be some calm after what is sure to be a crazy night.
