‘Ray Donovan’ season 4 finale spoilers: Ray’s latest predicament

The season 4 finale of “Ray Donovan” is coming to Showtime on Sunday night, and in what should be news that is not surprising to anyone, we are going to see its title character at a crossroads.

Specifically, Ray has to figure out what in the world he wants to do after he is ratted out, and what sort of danger this could put his entire family in. At first, and in typical male-lead rogue fashion, Ray didn’t want to tell Abby about it. He wanted to try to continue doing things the precise way in which he wanted to, but she pressed him to come clean.

Is there any sort of long-term ramification that will come out of this conversation? Probably not, since we feel personally that more of the danger is likely going to come out of whatever is going to happen next. You have to remember that this is the season finale, people! This is not the time of a season for episodes with quiet confrontations. Eventually you have to assume Ray is going to make a big move, and in turn this could set the tone for almost the entirety of season 5. The show’s already been renewed, so there isn’t any real reason to be worried about that as we get ready to dive into the next episode in just over 24 hours.
