Is ‘The Night Of’ new tonight? One season 2 philosophy
Would it be rather wonderful to get a new episode of “The Night Of” tonight? Absolutely, since we certainly know that many out there would love some further answers to the story, including the reveal of who the actual killer of Andrea Cornish really was.
Unfortunately, that is not going to happen. Last week was the finale on HBO, and the ending was intended to be as ambiguous as it was. There is no further story to tell when it comes to Nasir Khan, or at least this is the impression that we currently have. For a little more insight on that subject, you don’t have to look any further than what actor Riz Ahmed said to The Hollywood Reporter this past week:
“I think it was conceived of as a one-season one-off and perhaps there’s a second season they might do a different case like they did in the British version of the show. I think sometimes it’s said, ‘Better to quit while you’re ahead.'”
It is possible that we will see a second season ordered in due time, but at the moment, the network has not exactly made some of their own intentions clear. We would assume that much of this could be story-based. If the producers behind the scenes have another interesting story that they want to tell, we imagine that another season will be announced then. For now, just look forward to some of the other interesting programming HBO has around the bend, including “Divorce” with Sarah Jessica Parker and the ambitious new “Westworld.”
