‘Supernatural’ season 12: Rick Springfield on upcoming Lucifer turn

Supernatural -

On this past season of “Supernatural,” we had a chance to see Misha Collins play a very different form of Lucifer as the character found himself within Castiel’s body. It was a nice shake-up, for the upcoming twelfth season the character is back to being himself.

As for Lucifer, let’s just say that he’s found himself a crazy new host played by none other than rock icon / actor Rick Springfield. This should be a fun part, and Springfield provided a nice little teaser on the subject in a new interview with Billboard:

“I play this rock guy who gets possessed by Lucifer, because Lucifer has just escaped from wherever they put him last season … He’s always looking for a human host to do this bad stuff to the world, and I happen to be that human host. It’s really fun, well-written. And the effects are insane; the other day I spent two hours in the makeup chair getting ready for this one scene. It’s really incredible stuff.”

“Fun” probably is the perfect way to describe working on this show in general, since it offer you up so many opportunities to do weird, wacky, and interesting things you won’t get to do elsewhere. Plus, if you’re a part of this show, odds are that its fans will embrace and appreciate you for years. That’s not something that can be easily replicated with less-devoted fans out there.

You should expect Springfield to turn up at some point fairly early on in the season.
