NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 11 video casts Adam Levine, Blake Shelton as secret agents
For the eleventh season of “The Voice,” NBC is clearly getting a little bit weird with their promo strategy. First, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton were coaches; now, apparently they are the second coming of the Men in Black.
We do gotta say that this new promo certainly does a really great job of casting these two guys in this strange little world; also, we gotta admit that these two are the selling points of the show, and viewers do tend to love their friendship.
However, at the same exact time it is really odd that the show brought on Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys to be coaches for the season, and they are not appearing at all in the promo. Where in the world are they? Why wouldn’t you promote with them? They’re both certainly famous and capable of drawing their own fan bases to the series.
The show will premiere officially on September 19 after having a brief preview during the Olympics. We do think this remains one of the premiere singing competitions, but we wish that there was a little more creativity either in the second round with the Steal or at least with the editing of them. For some reason, “America’s Got Talent” really makes their Golden Buzzer moments into something special, and we really don’t care nearly as much when this thing is used here.
In the end, let’s just hope that “this changes everything,” the slogan used above for this preview, really applies and is not just lip service to get people hyped.
