‘Chicago Justice’ spoilers: ‘Heroes: Reborn’ alum exits, joins CBS’ ‘Ransom’
Remember last year when “Chicago Med” underwent a variety of changes both on-camera and off-camera in between its backdoor pilot and ultimately its premiere over on NBC? Well, let’s just say that you are going to see at least one thing remotely similar to this from a casting point of view with “Chicago Justice.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nazneen Contractor (“Heroes: Reborn”) is exiting the series, where she was set to play the second-in-command to Philip Winchester’s Peter Stone in Dawn Harper. Instead, the actress is going to be joining the upcoming CBS project “Ransom.” We figure that the “Chicago PD” spin-off will merely bring in someone to replace her in a slightly different role.
This franchise is used to such tweaks at this point, and given the timing of the backdoor pilot and when the show will premiere in the new year, it will be easy to say that Harper left her position in Chicago for one elsewhere; meanwhile, someone else could be brought in to take her place.
While we did want to see Contractor in this pot, we have plenty of confidence that “Chicago Justice” will make the change and find someone else compelling for the part. We already know that there is a strong cast still at the center of the series, one that includes Winchester, Carl Weathers, and also “Justified” alum Joelle Carter. As soon as there is some other news when it comes to this edition of the franchise, you better believe we’ll have it for you here.
