‘Girl Meets World’ season 3, episode 6 video: Sneak peek highlights Shawn Hunter’s return

If you’ve been looking to see Shawn Hunter on “Girl Meets World” this season, rest assured that he will be back soon! While there is no new episode airing this week in lieu of the Fourth of July holiday, you will get a chance to see Rider Strong back in the role come July 8 in “Girl Meets Upstate.”

Not only that, but we’ve got a new sneak peek for you below (via ET Online) that gives you a little bit more of a sense as to why he’s there. Apparently, Riley and Maya end up paying Shawn a visit in order for him to help with one of the newest quests for our main characters. Specifically, we’re talking here about Maya trying to find herself once more after realizing that she has become a lot like her best friend.

If there is someone out there who knows a thing or two about identity issues, it’s Shawn thanks to everything that he has went through already on “Boy Meets World” with Cory, who spent much of his early years wanting to be like him for reasons that he cannot completely understand. There’s a cute little flashback to the original series in here, something that we really appreciate since you’re exposing new fans to the original source material.

If there is one thing we’d correct here if we were Shawn, it’s comparing Cory and Topanga to Romeo and Juliet. After all, we know how that story ended, and here’s a hint: It wasn’t good!
