‘Hell on Wheels’ season 5, episode 11 preview: Could ‘Gambit’ put Durant in danger?
Over the course of the past two episodes on “Hell on Wheels,” Cullen Bohannon has found himself some peace in the form of his relationship with Mei. While we do think there was love between him and Naomi in a way, it was a relationship that was more the result of circumstance and a means to an end. We don’t feel the same way about things now. Mei is not someone Cullen needs to be with, but he wants to.
Unfortunately, in the coming weeks the story could put that relationship in some jeopardy. Usually we like to share synopses for these episodes in advance, but the one that is out there is a little too much of a spoiler for our liking. (We don’t like to give anything too major away.) Therefore, let’s just say that circumstances could put Mei in a precarious position, and it could cause Cullen to take some drastic actions while the railroad continues to reach its conclusion.
We’ve done our best throughout the season to keep it in mind where we are going, and we’re certainly doing so once again now given that we are so close to dropping the curtain on the series. For Cullen, the only real hope that we have is that one way or another, he manages to find some peace.
In specifically focusing on next week’s “Gambit,” the promo below focuses primarily on Durant, Mickey, and the aftermath from the capture story that puts Durant in a world of hurt. If he wants to find a way out of this, it may take either luck or a reversal of some of his schemes. We’ll see what happens.
