TV Quick Hits: ‘The Magicians’ season 2 scoop; ‘Mom’ season 4 promotes 1; Bravo awards
“The Magicians” casts a key role – The second season of “The Magicians” is coming to Syfy early next year, and we’re happy to have some further casting news to share in the near future.
According to a report from Deadline, Brittany Curran (“Chicago Fire,” “Dear White People”) is going to play the role of Eliot’s Fillorian wife Fen. It’ll be interesting to see precisely how the show handles the injection of some of these characters moving into the next season as this world begins to expand more and more. Hopefully, we’ll have some further casting news on the subject soon.
As for some other news from the day…
“Mom” season 4 makes a promotion – William Fitchtner, per a report from TVLine, has been officially promoted to a series regular. That is great news for the character Bonnie, given that Adam is someone who has gotten very close to her over time. What this show has done so great over time is establishing a full world, one full of characters who come in and out. Nothing is stable in life, and this show is a reflection of that.
Enter the Bravos – No, we’re not talking about Braavos from “Game of Thrones.” Bravo the network has announced that on Wednesday, July 20, they are going to have an awards show entitled The Bravos hosted by Andy Cohen, meant to recognize a variety of big things from their family of shows (in other words, a ton of “Real Housewives” and a few other things) for a variety of silly categories. While this is clearly not meant to be taken seriously, who knows? Maybe it will turn out to be a lot of fun in the process.
