‘Scream Queens’ season 2 spoilers: Taylor Lautner of ‘Twilight,’ ‘Cuckoo’ on board
The second season of “Scream Queens” for Fox more than likely just got a huge creative shot in the arm — and maybe a ratings one, to boot.
Today, it was announced that former “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner, who has as of late made a scene-stealing turn on the British comedy “Cuckoo,” has joined “Scream Queens” in a series-regular role, playing a doctor at the hospital many of our season 1 characters have migrated. While he may have a great deal of professionalism, he also has his own skeletons and could end up becoming a suspect for some unspeakable things.
Executive producer Ryan Murphy is a guy who really has a knack for getting big-name actors on some of his shows, and this is yet another bit of evidence of that. Recently it was announced that “Grandfathered” star John Stamos is going to be a series regular on the show as well, and some popular season 1 actors, including Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, and Jamie Lee Curtis, have all checked in.
The real struggle for “Scream Queens” in our head is mostly going to be figuring out a way to avoid the Murphy sophomore slump that has hurt some of his other shows. “Glee” never really recaptured the season 1 magic, the first season of “American Horror Story” was the best, and while “Nip/Tuck” didn’t fade entirely in the second season, we still think it burst out of the gate stronger than it would ever be from there on out.
The new season will start this fall, and hopefully, we’ll have some other great casting news soon!
