‘NCIS’ season 14 sets Wilmer Valderrama as (surprise!) series regular
Clearly, someone over at CBS wanted to change things up when it comes to their plans for “NCIS” season 14. At first earlier this spring, there were claims that Sarah Clarke and Duane Henry were going to be the two new series regulars brought in for the roles of Tess Monroe and Clayton Reeves, following their two guest spots at the end of season 13. Now, it turns out that it will be none other than “That 70’s Show” alum Wilmer Valderrama who has signed up for a series-regular role.
Per TVLine, the character Wilmer is going to be playing is none other than a “once grounded NCIS field agent who accepted a deep cover assignment years ago and never resurfaced. Many agents don’t know he’s still on the job or that he’s even alive. Now, he’s back and his dedication to job and country has left him an unpredictable, charismatic loose cannon.” It’s an interesting part, and one that should give him some meaty material almost right away.
In a statement, executive producer Gary Glasberg had the following to pass along on the part:
“Fans are going to see him like they’ve never seen him before. This is going to be fun. We’re thrilled he’s coming aboard.”
So where does this leave Henry and Clarke? The jury is still out on that, but we would presume that the two of them will still have some sort of role to play in the story to come. We’ll have some other news on this in due time, but for now remember that season 14 is going to premiere at some point this fall.
