TV Quick Hits: ‘Younger’ renewed; Netflix acquires David Brent movie; ‘Roots’ remake coming to Hulu
“Younger” is coming back – For all of those who love the Sutton Foster series, great news! At the same time that the show started to film its third season, TV Land has confirmed that it will be coming back for more. In a statement, the network’s Executive Vice President of Development and Original Programming Keith Cox had the following to say:
“The show is a force in and of itself, so it’s a no-brainer to renew it again … Critics and fans love it, and I know Darren and the entire cast and crew behind Younger will continue to deliver at the top of their game.”
Given that this is a show that has become somewhat of a staple of the network’s lineup, we have a feeling that we could be seeing “Younger” for many more years!

“Roots” heads to Hulu – The fantastic miniseries, which aired across many different networks including Hulu and Lifetime earlier this year, is now going to be heading to Hulu. It will start streaming this fall, and the head of content Craig Erwich had the following to say:
“We’re so proud to welcome such a culturally important and highly-rated series… to Hulu.”
New David Brent TV movie – Netflix has acquired “David Brent: Life on the Road,” a new spin-off movie from “The Office” UK starring Ricky Gervais as the title character.
