‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ officially coming back (eventually), HBO and Larry David confirm
This was definitely not an announcement that we were expecting going into today, but it is one that we are certainly more than a little bit glad to receive: “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is officially coming back to HBO with Larry David in the leading role! The network made the confirmation today in a statement, with new programming head Casey Bloys offering up the following:
“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of CURB and can’t wait to see what he has planned.”
Meanwhile, David himself offered up his own comment as to why he is coming back, which is hilarious and also in his own self-deprecating style:
“In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”
There is no return date as of yet for the show, but this confirms what many had figured for quite a long time: There was always an interest from Larry in bringing back this show, and the main question here was primarily finding the right place and time in order to do it. The past year in particular has been an enormous one for him, thanks largely to both some of his stage work and also his huge string of appearances on “Saturday Night Live” over the past few months, where he played Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders. He even hosted the show once this past season, and it is regarding now by many as the strongest episode of the year.
Of course, you better believe that we’ll have some other news on this revival once we start to hear about it! For now, let us know what you think about the news below.
