Ratings: ‘BrainDead’ flops; ‘American Ninja Warrior,’ ‘Ultimate Team Challenge’ strong
Clearly, CBS may have a bit of a problem with their much-hyped new drama “BrainDead“: It may very well be dead on arrival.
The official ratings for Monday night’s television lineup have been posted, and the new series from “The Good Wife” creators Robert and Michelle King has drawn just a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That is a bummer for those out there who were wanting to see at least some sort of interesting, new idea in the summer perform better.
What also hurts this show moving forward is that of the viewers who watched it, we know that there were many who didn’t care for it at all. Thanks to that, we can easily see this rating drop in subsequent weeks. If there is one caveat that the show has, it is this: Airing against the NBA Finals. Maybe that competition really hampered it.
Elsewhere on TV, the NBA didn’t really seem to surprisingly have much impact on “American Ninja Warrior,” which ended up drawing a 1.9 rating and was the best regularly-scheduled program on the night. Even more impressive to us was “Ultimate Team Challenge” premiering to a 1.5. It’s not often that you see a new series, especially these days, hit numbers that were anywhere near this good.
As for some other news, “Reign” season 3 at least stayed steady with a 0.3, which is something that The CW can at least mildly celebrate as they continue to look forward to the upcoming fourth season. You can expect the finale to at least remain at this level next week.

I wanted to like BrainDead, but I didn’t. It just seemed silly, and not in a good campy way. I won’t be watching it again.
