‘The Blacklist’ season 4: Are Liz and Tom Keen doomed?
Almost from the onset of the series, Liz and Tom Keen were a polarizing pair. That’s kind of what happens when you’re married to someone with a secret double life, and also someone attached to some very bad / mysterious things. Given everything the two went through, it is a miracle in the first place that they ended up together to the point where they would actually get married in season 3.
Yet, look at where we are now. Liz has been captured by Alexander Kirk, a man secretly her father. Tom’s present whereabouts are still in some question, but we know he’s got a chance to work with his own mother in Scottie Hargrave. In theory, the two have a child in Agnes that could keep them together, but with Tom heading over to “The Blacklist: Redemption,” how much time is he really going to have with her? Maybe since the spin-off is eight episodes only, there’ll be opportunities for him to still integrate into the flagship show, but we just don’t see it being in a way that lasts for so long that you guarantee Liz and Tom have a future.
So in the end, we’re moving now into a season of romantic uncertainty for the two of them. There are other places they could go romantically, and other challenges that could await them that are so severe, romance may not be on their mind much. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to watch unfold, largely because they are both people that sometimes have a hard time seeing love through the lens of pain. They found it through each other for a time, but there may be so much pain now that the lens has cracked, and is left in shards along the floor.

Tom and Liz’s journey has been a fascinating one to me. There’s no denying that they’ve been through hell, both together and apart, but to watch the learning curve that they’ve both been through. I belief Knauf said that Tom was assembling his soul through his redemption arc and it’s been a very interesting journey to watch him do so and, so it would seem, lead him back to the woman that helped him learn that he had one to begin with.
They’ve had their share of issues, but in the world of spies, criminal masterminds, and all the extremes the that Blacklist is built off of, I believe their struggles have made them stronger. They are two individuals that compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses very well. Moving forward, it’ll be interesting to see how the Jo(h)ns and the other writers approach them as the family that they have said that they are now (or again) with little Agnes. With the lies cleared out between them and the truth the starting point for their relationship, I think they’ll make a badass team. I have a lot of hope for S4.

Once an abusive liar, always an abusive liar. Great representation guys…bad boys turn ‘good’ enough for a spinoff – but that relationship should have never happened again and again and…

I don’t want to see an abusive relationship, thank you very much.

Abuse is not romance. So no.

These polls are the playground for idiots with too much free time. Wait for them to hijack this one and report results to the producers adding “fandom has spoken”.
I don’t see the point in breaking up canon couple after so much effort went into building up their relationship. Ryan Eggold can leave the show as a regular (unlikely) and still appear as a reoccurring character, keeping Tom/Liz as a background relationship. Good for the people who didn’t like heavy focus on romance in 3B?

Red told Tom that he had to keep his identity a secret from Scottie, otherwise it would put both of them at risk. Because of this, he has to go back to lying…to Liz. Their relationship was doomed from the start, and then you have to consider the fact he’ll be working with the woman who helped put Liz in this position to begin with. It’s one thing for Tom to risk his own life, but Agnes is at risk now because of Tom’s own mother!!!! This will not last. Liz is a mother first, and her child will come before him.

That relationship is disgusting.
