Teen Choice Awards 2016: Emily Bett Rickards, Eliza Taylor, Danielle Panabaker lead Sci-Fi / Fantasy actress
It’s hard to really determine sometimes what the most competitive category is going to be for a show like the Teen Choice Awards, but we do know one thing: When it comes to the category of Sci-Fi / Fantasy Actress, every single person nominated is someone we could see winning. All are from really popular shows, and you’ve also got a curious case of five actresses from The CW facing off against a leading lady from ABC for supremacy. Things could get competitive, and more than a little interesting.
You can head over here right now to vote on the actual awards; below, you can see our take, and you can also vote in the poll where you can pinpoint your own choice!
The nominees
Candice King – “The Vampire Diaries”
Emily Bett Rickards – “Arrow”
Danielle Panabaker – “The Flash”
Eliza Taylor – “The 100”
Kat Graham – “The Vampire Diaries”
Lana Parrilla – “Once Upon a Time”
Who will win – This one is really tough. Nina Dobrev not being nominated here anymore does open things up a little bit for other contenders, and if we were going with show audience alone, we’d have to give the edge to Parrilla. Also, we wonder if some of the other actors from The CW will end up canceling each other out, especially since you do have two leading ladies from “The Vampire Diaries” along with two actresses from superhero shows.
Who should win – After some of the work she put in during a devastating third season of “The 100,” how do you go with anyone other than Eliza? It’s a hard thing to figure out, since she to us is almost a creative slam dunk. We say this even with an appreciation for the work of the others in this category, especially people like Parrilla and Panabaker who had a chance to perform effectively two separate roles in one.
