‘Scorpion’ season 3: Should this be the year for Walter and Paige?
Mrs. Carter: Is the “Scorpion” cliffhanger making the wait until season 3 all the more painful for anyone else?
The conclusion of season 2 brought us Walter finally admitting that he is going to try to give things a go with Paige, as he drove after her to stop her and Tim Armstrong while they were heading to a retreat … otherwise known as the same very one that he previously sent the two on! This was certainly an odd decision on his part at the time, but one that he made with a rather strong stance on inner-office romances at the time.
Now, he’s willing to be a little more lax; therefore, shouldn’t the show as well when it comes to keeping these two apart? They’ve had these feelings in some form for over a year now, and while it felt like we were moving things along quickly early during season 2, we then settled into a LONG lull. We don’t want this to be the sort of thing that is only picked up here and there at premieres and finales. We’re not even sure we want to wait until season 4.
Do we understand that there could be some hurdles when it comes to getting them together right away? Sure. For one, Walter’s timing is terrible. He’s admitting his feelings to Paige at a time when she is off with another guy she currently has some sort of relationship with! He has to be respectful of that, but not so respectful that he never says anything. We can see in the first half of the season a path that gets them together without crushing Tim completely out of the blue, or changing who these characters are as people. Granted, we could also see them waiting until next year, to make a big play with the romance during February sweeps.
