‘Talking Preacher’ spoilers: Dominic Cooper, Seth Rogen among Chris Hardwick’s guests
The schedule for tonight’s primetime lineup is odd across the board, mostly because this is Memorial Day Weekend and there are plenty of people who treat this Sunday as a Saturday since the majority of people have Monday off.
For AMC, they are doing the same thing to a certain extent. They wanted “Fear the Walking Dead” to be used as a lead-in to “Preacher,” so they aired the pilot episode for the first time last week. However, in doing so they put themselves in the position where if they wanted to air a new episode a week, they’d have to stick the show on the air tonight, without a lead-in, and with all of the circumstances we’ve already pointed out with this feeling like a Saturday. They didn’t want to do that.
Therefore, there is no new episode of the show tonight, and instead AMC is replaying at 9:00 p.m. Eastern (against “Game of Thrones,” no less) the pilot for the show. Following that, you’re going to have “Talking Preacher,” proving that there will at least be something new you can check out tonight. The show starts at 10:30 p.m., and joining show host Chris Hardwick will be star Dominic Cooper as well as Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin (executive producers).
Unfortunately, the network isn’t giving every episode this season an aftershow; you’re getting one tonight, and then at the end of the season there will be another one so that the story can be tied up. We’ll have some more information about that one, of course, when we get closer to it airing.
