ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 finale spoilers: Could Beckett die in Stana Katic’s last episode?
There’s not really anything that we can say that would necessarily make you feel better about next week’s finale for “Castle,” especially when you remember for a minute or two that this is the last episode for Stana Katic. For those of you feeling sad, we’d advise you to look back at all of the fun, romantic, and emotional episodes from the past eight years. No matter what happens, remember that there is nothing that the story ahead or all of the changes can take away from you. If you are upset about ABC dropping Katic and Tamala Jones, remember the good times.
Alas, we press on, and we hope for at least a strong final act in “Crossfire.” The synopsis below doesn’t give away much, but the LokSat investigation is going to be reaching its conclusion:
“With their best lead in hand, Castle and Beckett are ready to take on LokSat. But an unforeseen twist puts their case – and their lives – in jeopardy.”
At the moment, unfortunately there is no telling precisely what the future holds when it comes to “Castle,” but we certainly hope that one way or another, a firm decision is made within a few days. We don’t want that hanging over our heads any longer.
The promo below makes it very clear just how much danger Beckett is in, and we certainly hope that she survives the finale given just how hard the show is pushing that she could die. Hopefully, this is a case of classic TV misdirection regardless of whatever the show’s future is.

Fire the actress then promote the show as your last chance to see her as Beckett.

Genius, the ratings should hit a season high.

Yes, genius, or DESPERATE. They may get high ratings for the season finale, because fans want to see Kate Beckett for the last time. This is just more evidence as to how low the network will go for ratings. The true test will be S9–We’ll see what happens then.

S9 will only be 13 episodes, they will air regardless of the ratings. There is a portion of the fan base who aren’t shippers who will watch those 13 episodes. They are that the ones who were clamoring for RC to divorce KB when she left him at the start of the season.

why bothering renewing if one of the two central characters will be missing. from the beginning this show has been around the dynamics between the duo. just like you can’t do X-Files without Mulder and Scully, you can’t do Castle without Castle and Beckett.

I don’t even have anything more to say. I don’t have any love for Alexi Hawley for sure. A really good, entertaining show with a sweet love story was ruined by show runners who missed the whole premise of this show. Wanting to start a “clean slate”, i.e. a Beckett-less slate, will be the downfall of the show that Marlowe carefully crafted. His vision was ruthlessly torn down, episode by Episode, this season -almost seems intentional. So frustrating to be betrayed by ABC, and newshowrunners. Not sorry I watched the first seasons, but maybe regret staying with the show after Marlowe left. What a sorry mess.

You have to remember, it was MilMar who wrote 6.23 that began this downward spiral .and then walked away leaving others to cope with that disaster.

True Leo ,but you also have to remember it could have been fixed ,but the new TPTB decided to go all out and try and start over .Pretty bad job by Both ABC and TPTB.

Kill off her character and then add on 13 episodes just to prove it can be done. SK must’ve really pissed off someone or somebodies in the front office. The studio isn’t looking for Castle 2.0 to be a success, only that it can be done. That’s heady stuff.

Leo, supposedly, at that time, NF refused to film a wedding scene that would potentially throw him and STANA together even more on set. Thus, MilMar, at the last second were forced to write that non- wedding ep. That’s why they left- they couldn’t pursue their vision for the show, and the CASKETT relationship with those constraints. Nathan SUPPOSEDLY put in his contract that he and STANA would only have to work together no more than 2 days a week. I think much more went on behind the scenes than we will ever know.

Thanks Becky, the first part of your statement is the most plausible and believable I’ve heard to date. It would explaine what was the worst episode they jointly wrote.
