‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 finale video: Reid, Rossi, Garcia try to make sense of Hotch events

What in the world is going on with Hotch on Wednesday’s “Criminal Minds” season finale? It’s certainly a worthy question, but also one that we don’t have a firm answer to as of yet.

All we do know is that for one reason or another, Thomas Gibson’s character has been arrested in the early minutes of this episode, and it is up to the rest of the team to figure out not only why this happened, but if there is any way in which he can be retrieved. At first, the likes of Reid, Rossi, Dr. Lewis, and Garcia speculate that maybe he was the victim of some sort of “swatting” prank, or some other ploy that caused him to wrongfully accused.

However, by the time we make it to the of the sneak peek, that doesn’t really look as though it is the case anymore. Hotch seems to be legitimately in handcuffs, and the BAU is left to pick up the pieces. Where’s a good starting-off point for them? Think Antonia. While it’s not exactly clear at the moment just how much the team knows about her conversation with Hotch, she warned him that a “storm” was coming, and it just so turns out that this has in fact arrived at his doorstep. He has to figure out now how to weather it.

In one way or another, we imagine that this story will either be resolved during the finale, or set up as a great thread to unravel in season 12. We’d be satisfied with either outcome, provided of course that it is handled with the right sort of precision.
