‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spoilers: How will Ruzek feel about Roman, Burgess?
Come Wednesday night, “Chicago PD” is going to return to NBC with all-new episodes, and based on what we’re hearing about the next few in particular, we imagine that they could be big ones for the character of Burgess. A romance is starting to blossom between her and Roman, but there will be tension between Burgess and her ex Ruzek over it; not only that, but the backdoor pilot for “Chicago Justice” is going to feature her character in more of a courtroom setting.
We’re going to have more on the Burgess arc next week, but for now, we figured we’d give you a quick teaser regarding just how the Ruzek character may be coping with all the changes. Speaking per Entertainment Weekly in a new interview, executive producer Matt Olmstead had the following to pass along about how hard everything is going to end up being for him:
“That hits him pretty hard, finding out not through her that there was a thing between her and Roman … That definitely affects Ruzek’s relationship with Roman going forward. Certainly, as a fellow cop, he wants him to pull through, but there’s not going to be anything from Ruzek to Roman in terms of brotherly love.”
As Olmstead points out, these two are co-workers, and with that there are probably going to be some more opportunities for them to work together over the course of the many weeks ahead. Hopefully everything will calm down by the finale, but there’s never any guarantee of that in this world.
