‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9 spoilers: When will Judd Hirsch first appear as Leonard’s father?

Big Bang Theory -It was first revealed a little while ago that on an upcoming episode of “The Big Bang Theory” season 9, we were going to have an opportunity to meet none other than Judd Hirsch in the role of Leonard’s father. It’s a casting that Johnny Galecki specifically lobbied for, and his appearance allows for a chance to (finally) meet someone who the show has previously balked at introducing. There are only so many parental units that we have not met on the show yet.

Luckily, we can confirm for you now that Hirsch will be officially coming on board for the upcoming May 12 send-off for the season. While there is no title unveiled for this finale as of yet, the synopsis below does offer up at least a few more details regarding precisely what you can expect to see from Leonard’s dad alongside some other guest stars:

“Judd Hirsch is introduced as Leonard’s (Johnny Galecki) father. Also, Leonard’s mother, Beverly Hofstadter (Christine Baranski), and Sheldon’s mother, Mary Cooper (Laurie Metcalf), return.”

If there ever was an epic way in order to introduce Hirsch onto the show, this is it: By giving us as many great guest stars as possible in a single hour. We’re more than thrilled to see both Baranski and Metcalf back, and we imagine that Leonard’s parents probably have a very interesting rapport with each other onscreen.

One other thing that we are interested in knowing right now is what the end of “The Good Wife” means for Baranski’s status on this show. Could this mean that she has even more opportunities to appear? We certainly hope so.
