‘Sherlock’ season 4: Mark Gatiss announces return to filming!
For many fans of the BBC’s “Sherlock,” it has been at times a rather long and painful wait for new episodes. Sure, we had “The Abominable Bride” earlier this year, but before that two years had passed since the third season aired originally on British television.
Well, today marks the beginning of the end for our waiting period, as Mycroft himself in Mark Gatiss officially announced in the video HERE that filming is underway! Also, Rachel Talalay, fresh off of “Doctor Who,” is coming over to direct at least one of the episodes.
Aside from the joy that we have over the show being back in production, consider this also recognition that Benedict Cumberbatch may be one of the busiest people alive. This is a guy who just recently wrapped up filming “Doctor Strange” in New York, and he is now jumping across the pond to play one of his most signature characters. We love the fact that he continues to come back to this show, even though we are well aware of the fact that in theory, there is really no reason why he has to continue doing so. He could opt instead to just do movies, so it’s nice to see him finding the time to do this. The same goes for Martin Freeman.
At the moment, there is no confirmed premiere date for “Sherlock” season 4, or even a suggestion for one. Our feeling is that maybe it will surface in January 2017, since that has turned out to be a rather good spot for the show many times before.
