‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 finale: Jeffrey Dean Morgan ready to take Negan on
It’s only now a matter of hours until “The Walking Dead” comes to a conclusion with an epic 90-minute finale, and there is one word on the tip of everyone’s tongue: Negan. He is the Big Bad presumably for the foreseeable future, and as a result of that he is someone we’re incredibly excited to see. Every good story needs an incredible villain, and this show has the potential to have one with him. He’s certainly one of the most formidable people we’ve ever seen within the world of the comics.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“The Good Wife,” “Supernatural,” dozens of other great things) is the man fortunate enough to land the part, and in setting up the story to “Entertainment Tonight” (via ComicBook.com), he relays the following message:
“I don’t know if the fans are going to be ready for it, to be honest with you. When you do what I do for a living, you want to do as many different things as possible and I love the challenge of this character … I think it is going to be a great challenge for me as an actor.”
Morgan also joked that he is certainly prepared for all of the hate mail he’ll probably receive as a result of playing this character, who could very well take the life of a series-regular character tonight. It’s probably for this reason we’re glad producers opted for a familiar face for this role. Morgan knows what it’s like to be on an established franchise, and can easily handle the fact that some on social media won’t be much of a fan of his thanks to what does.
