‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 16 video: Rebecca Mader’s Zelena takes center stage

For those of you who have missed seeing Zelena and her unique brand of villainy on “Once Upon a Time” this season, rest assured that you’ll be seeing more of her soon! Specifically, Rebecca Mader is back in Sunday night’s new episode entitled “Our Decay,” and the latest sneak peek below offers some more insight into one of her plots.

Specifically here, you see the Wicked Witch plotting to find a way to concoct a time-travel spell, presumably so that she can go back in time and alter the entire course of her life. In order to get it to work, she specifically needs the brain of the Scarecrow, who we presume found it upon Dorothy’s first visit to Oz. (By the way, we like the CGI design of the Scarecrow, and that’s not often something that we really praise the show for.)

Luckily for our straw-constructed friend, Dorothy swoops in and saves the day, though some time has clearly passed since her last appearance in Oz and she is now quite the warrior. Will she be able to thwart Zelena? Time will tell, but we know that this is not the only important story thread regarding this character in the episode. We’re also going to learn that in one way or another, Hades has a history with her, and that is something that could play out in a very interesting way.
