‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 17 video: Barry takes on … Barry?

Well, let’s just say there is a reason why Tuesday night’s new episode of “The Flash” is entitled “Flash Back.” We’re going to see not just one, but two different Barry Allens as a part of the same universe. It’s a little bit of a strange thing to think about, but that is precisely where we are now.

So why is this happening? Basically, Barry is going to be traveling back to the season 1 timeline to see if he can learn a few new tricks from about how to defeat Zoom, who he now knows to be Jay Garrick. The time in which he travels back to is when the Pied Piper was causing some chaos, and of course in the process of this he runs into his former self. Unfortunately, he doesn’t really have a lot of time to explain to Younger Barry what he is up to, and simply has to inject him based on the sneak peek below.

In a lot of ways, this episode has been completely overshadowed by the “Supergirl” crossover that aired yesterday, but rest assured that there is a lot to look forward to on this episode. It’s going to be hugely significant to the future of the series, and to go along with that this episode actually takes place before the events of the “Supergirl” episode. Thank the scheduling departments for both CBS and The CW for the confusion there, and why he ended up in National City almost out of nowhere.
