‘Chicago Fire’ season 4, episode 17 video: A discovery by Taylor Kinney’s Severide (and what it means)
It has been a rather long wait since “Chicago Fire” last aired on NBC, but the good news is that it is almost over! There’s another new episode coming up on Tuesday, and all early indications suggest that this will do a rather great job of setting up precisely what some of the stories and struggles are going to be as a whole.
What both the promo below and the attached synopsis (if you haven’t seen them already) tell us first and foremost is that for this installment, you better believe that Taylor Kinney is going to be front and center for the main plotline. Unfortunately, it’s going to be a rather sad one, and linked to a cold case he first worked on a rather long time ago:
“While responding to a potential carbon monoxide leak inside a home, Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Cruz (Joe Minoso) uncover the remains of a child inside the chimney. Subsequent information leads Severide to believe that the discovery may be linked to a case he had worked on years ago. Meanwhile, with election day nearing, Casey (Jesse Spencer) braces for the worst in his run for Alderman, prompting Dawson (Monica Raymund) to enlist the firehouse team to lend a hand to the cause. Complicating his chances, Alderman Becks (guest star Armand Schultz) continues to bad mouth Casey to the press, but an incident in the field might prove beneficial.”
There’s really not too much made about any other story unrelated to Severide in this promo, but admittedly that is what happens when you only have a tiny amount of time to work with in this clip. As for why NBC doesn’t make these longer than fifteen seconds … well, that’s a very good question.
